Happy Thursday! We’ve been busy in the classroom wrapping things up and starting the great end of the year classroom clean up. :) Thank you to everyone to helped out in the classroom last week while I was out of town. I really appreciate your support and understanding.

Next week will be busy and go by fast. On Monday morning we have field day and Tuesday is our all day picnic to Valley of the Moon Park. If I have not received your permission form, I will be sending another one home today. Please sign and return it as soon as you can. Everyone will be assigned a food item (either hot dogs, buns, sides, desserts, or drinks) to bring for the picnic, which is stapled to this newsletter. On the last day of school, Thursday, we will be having a movie/pajama party in the morning followed by a outside/sports games party in the afternoon.

3^rd grade parents, there will be a transition meeting about moving upstairs to fourth grade with the intermediate teachers on Tuesday, May 20^th from 5:30 to 7pm in the Denali Library.

Happy Friday! We’ve had a great week in the classroom. We’ve been watching our plants grow and learning/reviewing conjunctions. We do have two field trips coming up next week. On Wednesday, the 7^th, we will be heading to the Alaska Native Heritage Center from 9:30am until 1:30pm. We will be taking a bus out there with some of the other primary classrooms. On Thursday, May 8^th, we will go to West High swimming pool at 1:45pm to practice our water safety skills with Kids Don’t Float. The cost of the field trip will be $4.00 each. If I haven’t received your child’s permission form, I will be sending another home today. Please return them as soon as possible. We are still in need of a few more chaperones for both trips and drivers for our swimming trip. Thanks!

The Denali Gala is coming up this Friday at the museum. Thank you to all who have brought in something to contribute to our silent auction basket. There is still time to bring some more picnic goodies in to fill it up. We are looking for picnic themed items, for example that could be a picnic blanket, treats, or activities for a picnic (bubbles, outside game, ect).

As the school year comes to a close we are gearing up for some busy weeks. The Denali field day will be on Monday, May 19^th and our primary picnic at Valley of the Moon Park will be on Tuesday, May 20^th.  A form in going home today about volunteering for field day and then be on the look out for one soon about our primary picnic!
