Happy Friday!

We had a busy week here in the classroom. We’ve been working on classifying triangles by sides and angles and playing the detective triangle game, learning about homographs, finding equivalent fractions, and trying our best to finish up our work on Asia. Next week is third grade AMP testing. There has been a slight change in the dates, we will be testing on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, March 29-31, and on Monday, April 4^th. We will be starting first thing in the morning after morning announcements. Ms. Tran and Ms. Jenni will be proctoring the tests this year and our classroom will be welcoming a few first and second graders from their classrooms during testing.

Friday, April 1^st is our field trip UAA to see TBA’s production of the Wizard of Oz. If I have not gotten your child’s permission form yet, another one will come home today. We will be taking the bus and leaving at 9:15. Since our Friday is already quite busy, we will be doing spelling tests on Thursday.

Report cards are coming home today from third quarter. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me. Snack calendars for April are also coming home. It is also time for recorders in music class, if you can find your recorder from last year, please send it in for music class on Tuesday and Thursday. Thanks!

We had a great week here in the classroom. We’ve been working on classifying triangles by sides, using homonyms, learning about Asian animals, and finding equivalent fractions. Today was our tally party and we had a great time sharing some of our favorite games with others. Next Wednesday, March 9^th, is our field trip to the Museum. We will be leaving around 9:45 and returning at 2:00pm. We are still looking for one more parent volunteer to chaperone, so if you have time in your schedule to join us that would be great!

Next week we will be doing spelling tests on Thursday, since there is no school on Friday. On Friday, April 1^st, we will be heading to UAA to see TBA’s production of the Wizard of Oz. We will be taking a bus and we will be leaving school at 9:15am and returning at 12:45pm. The play costs $5 per child and chaperones are free. We have been reading the book in the classroom and it should be fun time to see in on the stage!
