Happy Friday!

We had a great week here in the classroom. We have been working on triangles, adverbs, and we started our study of Asia. Today we celebrated the 100th day of school! Thanks so much to everyone who has signed up for their parent teacher conference time. In case you need it again, here is the web address: .http://www.asdk12.org/ConferenceScheduling/StudentScheduleStartExt.aspx . Just a reminder to please make sure you sign up for a time that your child can also attend so that they can show you all the hard work they have accomplished! Thanks!
On Friday, the 12th we will be going to West High School to see their production of The Little Mermaid from 9:15 to 12:30. We will be taking a bus there and it will cost 8 dollars per child. We will also be having our Valentine’s Day celebration that day and I have send home a class list of the names of all the children in our class. If your child would like to bring in a small box (tissue and shoe boxes work really well) to decorate and collect valentines in that would be great. J Since, Friday, the 12th, will be a busy day with both the field trip and celebration, we will plan to have spelling tests take place on Thursday, the 11th. Thanks!
Upcoming Dates:
·      Monday, February 1st, 9:15-12:00: Alice and Wonderland at the PAC
·      Friday, February 12th, 9:15-12:30: The Little Mermaid at West High School

Happy Friday!

We had a fun short week here in the classroom. We have been working on angles in geometry, punctuation and question marks, and fractions. I have gotten some questions about the new choices on this quarters homework menu so I made sure to post the different choices explained on our classroom website ( http://denaliroom183.blogspot.com/p/homework-menu.html ). Thanks and let me know if there are any choices missing from the explanation page and I will make sure to update it!
Just a reminder that on Monday, the 1st, at 9:15am, we will be walking to the PAC to see the play of Alice and Wonderland. If I have not received a permission form, I will send another one home today. Thanks!
Parent teacher conferences are also coming up in February. For these conferences we will be doing things a little bit differently. The children will be picking different works in the classroom that they are really proud of in order to show you what they have been learning. They will be writing reflections on their works and then presenting the reflection and work to you during our conference time. The only real change for you as parents is please make sure your child can attend our conference time. In addition, if you feel like there is anything that you like to discuss with me without your child being present, just let me know and we can set up another date to address that. Your children have been working hard and are excited to show you all that they have learned! You will be able to electronically sign up for a conference time again at .http://www.asdk12.org/ConferenceScheduling/StudentScheduleStartExt.aspx . This time you will need to select “mix” as the grade level. Then my name should appear in a drop down menu under team name. Just select what date you would like to book and press continue. From there you should be able to see all the available times for a conference. Select a time that works best for you and then enter your child’s name and then your email if you would like a reminder of your conference time. If for some reason you are unable to use the conference scheduler or cannot access the internet, there will be a place set up in office to access the schedule and/or I can provide assistance. If none of the available times work, please let me know and we can set something up for you.

Upcoming Dates:
·      Monday, February 1st, 9:15-12:00: Alice and Wonderland at the PAC
·      Snack Schedule:
Monday: Ayden
Tuesday: Ethan
Wednesday: Carmen
Thursday: Talha
Friday: Christina

Have a wonderful weekend!

We are still looking for a parent volunteer to help with spelling tests every other Friday morning. Please let me know if you have time in your schedule to come in and help out with this task.
