Happy Friday! I hope you have all been enjoying the sunny weather. April is gearing up to be a busy month. We have SBA testing next week for the third graders followed by a Denali spirit day on Friday. The following week we will have a field trip to museum to visit the new Gyre: The Plastic Ocean exhibit. It is tentatively scheduled for Friday, April 11^th, in the morning after spelling tests. I am still waiting for confirmation and will let you know as soon as I can.

On Monday the 21^st at 12:30, we will be going to the Pioneer School House to experience a recreation of what school was like in 1915 in Anchorage. At the end of the month we will a guest speaker from Kids Don’t Float to talk to us about water safety and then on May 8^th, we will take a trip to West High School pool to test out our water safety skills.

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a wonderful spring break. We’ve had a great week in the classroom. The third graders have been busy working on their practice SBA tests and reviewing concepts like prefixes and suffixes, perimeter, and paragraph writing. We are continuing to learn more about South America and very interesting animals that live there. We are also learning about synonyms and how to use them in our writing.

Report cards went home yesterday in your Thursday folders, if you have any questions or concerns please fill free to contact me. These are your copies of the report card to keep and do not need to be signed and returned.

Happy Thursday! This week we learned about the Inca civilization in South America and worked with prepositions in our writing. We are continuing to work on quick and efficient clean up and lining up. I did sent home the upcoming homework menu/spelling lists for the week after spring break. I also put the homework menu and spelling lists for the week up on the website (http://www.denalischool.org/room183/). Have an amazing spring break!
