We’ve had a great week in
the classroom. We’ve been continuing to explore Australia and finish up out
biography posters. We also made geometrical stars using our knowledge of
points, line segments, and rays and worked on apostrophes and contractions. On
Thursday, we went to see Shrek at West High School. Before going to the
musical, we read the picture book that inspired the movie. It was really
interesting to compare and contrast the three differed interpretations of the
story. Mr. Chuck, our music teacher, would love if we could all find our
recorders and bring them for rest of our music classes. J
Two permission forms are
going home today. One is for our Centennial train ride at the Alaska Railroad
on Friday, April 24th. We will be walking to the train station and
then taking a train ride out to Westchester Lagoon. We will be leaving school
around 9:15am and returning around 12:15pm. The second one is for the Pioneer
School House on Thursday, April 30th. The Pioneer School House will recreate
what it would have been like to go to school in 1915. We will be walking and
leaving Denali at 12:30pm and returning to the school around 3pm.
