We’ve been
busy here in the classroom. We’ve been working on verbs, the relationships
between of angles, polygons, and we started our exploration of Europe. On
Wednesday, we had a visitor, Mr. Tom, from Alaska Fish and Game to talk to us
about bears and moose and how to safely cohabit the outdoors with them. We
learned a lot and got to touch and see some moose and bear skulls and furs.
On Tuesday, the 18th,
we will be going on a field trip to the PAC to see National Geographic Live: The
Lens of Adventure. This is a program brought by the Anchorage Museum and
showcases a photographer or filmmaker for National Geographic. For this trip in
November, we will get to see Bryan Smith, a filmmaker who takes footage while
kayaking. In January, we will go to another one for Kobie Boykins, a NASA
engineer who takes photos of Mars. We will be leaving at 9:45 and returning
around 12:15.
Denali will be participating in a
holiday food drive for the Salvation Army. Each classroom will be collecting
different items and then compiling them to make a donation on November 21st. Our classroom’s items are:
-Canned Corn
-Boxed Mac and Cheese
If you happen to at the store and have some room in your
cart, please help us spread some holiday cheer! Thanks! J
